Introducing Corporate Social Responsibility to your Company
Companies, regardless the size, will always possess the power and influence to incorporate CSR into their systems if they are committed to the cause.
CSR allows for companies to put their field knowledge, expertise and at times money into community engagement, in an initiative to show that businesses are not only about maximizing profits. Besides making money from business activities, CSR can also be a crucial activity to invest in towards the end objective of maximizing more profits.
Included in this article are some ways that businesses can look into investing in a sound and effective CSR initiative.
1. Focus on skills that can relate to social responsibility
This one pointer is for companies out there who are slim on resources – you are not forgotten!
You can focus on activities that rely on the knowledge and skills that your employees already possess and use it as source of voluntary services your company provides.
For example, if you have employees who are software developers in your company, they can contribute to the company’s CSR development initiatives by using their skills to give back to local communities like charities!

2. Identify influencers in the company sharing the passion of social responsibility
The last thing you want to do as an organization is to force the notion of CSR onto your employees. Giving back to the community should come from the heart itself, and this gives you an opportunity to identify employees who are passionate and/or have experience in volunteering. As a matter of fact, they may also be able to showcase their skills by shaping your CSR policies and strategies!
Identifying these specific team members may be difficult, but do not give up! Do what you can within the company’s means and work side by side with them to let them know that you value & respect their work.

3. Identifying potential projects, and outsourcing them
Through some research on Google, you would be able to find ample opportunities for your company to partake in CSR activities. Besides considering creating a list of potential projects that your team have the time and energy to do, you can narrow them down to what relates to the values of the business.
However, the clutter of activities might discourage you from actually taking part as you might not be sure what your company would be actually be interested in.
